We will have two cider events this fall, Nov 1st for Fresh Juice and Nov 8th for Homebrewing and Hard Cider
Fresh Juice and Press Demo Saturday November 1st
Hoch Orchard will be open from 10 to 5pm. We will be pressing fresh apple juice on Saturday Nov 1st. For those of you who like fresh squeezed apple juice, we will have it available fresh off the press. You will be able to fill your containers with fresh unpasteurized cider. Bring your own jugs to fill for $8.00/ gallon. We will have a blend of fall apples and some juice by variety. We will have empty gallon jugs available for $1.00.
The press will be running from 10am to 1pm. We will have a fresh juice tasting at 2pm. You will have the opportunity taste tart, sweet, and aromatic ciders and compare them side by side.
We will have apples, jellies, sauces, vinegars and cider for sale. We will have brats, sides and snacks available for sale.
Hard Cider and Homebrew Event Saturday Nov 8th
Hoch Orchard will be open from 10 to 5pm. We will press several different apple varieties on Friday and hold the fresh juice in separate containers. If you want to make varietal hard ciders, bring some pails or jugs with covers. We plan on having Haralson, Honeygold, Regent, Golden Russet, and more. You will be able to fill your containers with fresh unpasteurized cider. Bring your own jugs to fill for $8.00/ gallon or $10.00/gallon for some specialty varieties like Golden Russet.
Plan to make it a day with activities like orchard tours, cider facility tours, cider apple variety tasting and fresh juice tasting.
During the day, we will have apples, jellies, sauces, vinegars and cider for sale. We will also have brats and other snacks available for sale while they last.
At 5pm, we will haev a hard cider tasting and a farm dinner. Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect. After dinner, we will do a formal tasting of some of our Hard Ciders. The dinner is $20.00 and will feature meat and produce from our farm.
